CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

On September 18th 2020,

Our cruises have resumed their normal operations since August 2020 with all the necessary and strict safety measures due to the Covid.

Message from the President General Manager

Over the last seven decades the company has been supplying islanders of French Polynesia, we never had to face such an insidious, powerful and combative opponent as the one hiding under its stage name COVID-19, which forced to several months interruption of cruise activity.

Despite the pandemic, the historical link with our islands populations was maintained by pursuing the supply-chain on a monthly service, while upgrading company’s health protocols, and keeping crew and islanders COVID free.

Lately enhanced and approved by the State Sanitary Authorities as efficiently protective of both islanders and guests, the New Health Protocols now allow ARANUI CRUISES to count among the very first companies worldwide to resume cruises, and offer a reduced number of guests to participate in supporting our secluded islands economy while being widespread in the Polynesian culture.

Seven (7) layers Enhanced Health Protocols applied to an initially COVID-free environment:

1- In addition to the pre-flight individual health standards required to enter French Polynesia, every single person joining the ship, guests and crew, will be asked to take a new PCR test the day before departure. The passengers will have to come to our office in Papeete to be tested from 7:30 am to 10:30 am the day before departure. For the safety of all, in the absence of this test or results that take 24 hours, or in case of positivity, access on board will not be possible.

2- When boarding, every passenger and crew will also undergo an enhanced pre-embarkation screening ensuring they are showing no symptoms of any infectious disease. All luggage and technical equipment as well as provision packaging to be processed through a virucidal and bacterial non-toxic fogging disinfection before reaching public spaces on board.

3- Protective measures implemented on board throughout the cruise, and encouraged ashore, such as, but not limited to, physical distancing, full service buffets and beverage stations, tables and seats spacing, twice a day cleaning/disinfection of staterooms, continuous disinfection of public areas, lifts and other high-traffic touch points, as well as wearing of protective masks for crew and guests whenever physical distancing cannot be performed (landing crafts/taxis/arts and crafts displays/shops/boutique/spa, to name a few).

4- Daily touchless temperature checks and general health monitoring performed by our on board Medical Team for all guests and crew before stepping ashore to visit the islands.

5- Virological tests and immediate quarantine into dedicated staterooms for a patient our on board Medical Team may consider as potential carrier of an infectious disease.

6- Full cooperation of the highly efficient SAMU 987 (National Medical Response and Paramadics) in assisting our on board Medical team in case a Medivac and Central Hospital care is required during the cruise.

7- Monitoring of guests’ general health status by our on shore Medical Services up to seven days after cruise disembarkation.

Beyond the constraints urged by such rigorous protocols, all guests can rest assured our crew members will perform in keeping up throughout their cruise, not only the safest possible environment, but also the friendly and family-like atmosphere for which ARANUI CRUISES has been voted for over decades.
