On February 22, 2018, Le Point published an article dedicated to the Aranui, written by André Trentin. For the journalist, the Aranui offers one of the best ways to explore the Marquesas Islands and describes his experience in this travelogue.

“On aborde les Marquises par l’île de Nuku Hiva. Une petite plage de sable noir ferme la baie de Taipivai. Une
route escarpée tracée dans une forêt où se dissimulent chèvres et cochons sauvages mène à Tohua Kamuihei. Dans la moiteur de l’épaisse végétation, au pied d’un gigantesque banian, apparaît le plus ancien site archéologique de l’archipel. Le village taillé dans le basalte remonterait au XVe siècle. Il donne à voir le paepae (pavage de cour intérieure) d’un fare (maison) de chef, un tohua (grande place réservée aux fêtes) et un marae (espace consacré aux chefs religieux). »
